Community talk

Blokes, stress and the things we do not say

A free, plain-spoken community talk for men about stress, anger, drinking and asking for help. No sitting in a circle.

A free 45-minute talk delivered by our clinical team at workplaces, sporting clubs and men's sheds around Darwin and Palmerston.

Men are significantly less likely to seek psychological help and significantly more likely to die by suicide. This talk is aimed squarely at that gap — practical, direct, no jargon, and no expectation that anyone shares anything.

What it covers

  • What chronic stress actually does to the body
  • Anger as the socially acceptable emotion, and what usually sits under it
  • Alcohol as a sleep aid, and why it is not one
  • What seeing a psychologist actually involves
  • How to check in on a mate

Available free to community groups and workplaces across the Darwin region. Contact us to arrange a session.

Would one-to-one suit better?

Groups are not right for everyone, and some difficulties are better addressed individually. Reception can talk it through.
