Making an appointment
Call reception on 08 8932 8460. We will ask what you are looking for, talk through which of our clinicians would suit, and check current availability. You are welcome to request a specific psychologist.
Getting a Medicare rebate
Book a longer appointment with your GP and ask about a Mental Health Treatment Plan. If you are eligible, your GP prepares the plan and writes a referral, which covers up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year — usually six initially, with a review before the remaining four.
Bring the referral and plan to your first appointment, or ask your GP to fax them to us on 08 8932 8465.
What it costs
Our fees are set with reference to the Australian Psychological Society's recommended schedule and vary with the length and type of appointment. Reception will tell you the exact fee and the exact rebate before you book — please ask.
Appointments with our provisional psychologists and registrars are offered at a reduced fee.
We are not a bulk billing practice.
Charged separately
Assessment and report work is charged in addition to consultation time:
- Cognitive, educational and developmental assessment reports
- Court reports and family assessments
- Letters and reports to agencies, insurers and schools
- Court attendance and case conferences
- File review and third-party meetings
Ask for a written quote before you commit to assessment work.
Other funding pathways
Fees can vary depending on how you were referred. We work with:
- Private health insurance — extras cover including psychology. You cannot claim Medicare and private health for the same session.
- Employee Assistance Programs — free to the employee.
- Workers compensation and insurers
- Motor Accident Commission
- Victims of Crime NT
- NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services
- NTG employees and their family members
- NDIS — self-managed and plan-managed participants
Payment
Payment is due at the appointment. We accept credit card, EFTPOS and bank transfer, and can process your Medicare rebate on the spot so it goes back into your account, usually within 48 hours.
Cancellations
Please give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to change or cancel. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged, because the appointment time cannot be offered to anyone else at short notice — and our waiting list is real.
