Work with us

Build your career in psychology in the Northern Territory.

Why the Territory

The clinical variety here is unlike anywhere else in Australia

Psychologists who move to the Territory tend to say the same thing after a year: they have seen a broader range of presentations, been trusted with more, and learned faster than they would have in a capital city.

The other half of the truth is that it is a small workforce, a long way from family for most people, and the wet season is genuinely hard. We would rather tell you that now than have you find out in March.

What we offer

  • A caseload you help shape, not one handed to you
  • No billing targets and no pressure to over-service
  • Funded professional development, including EMDR and Schema Therapy
  • Fortnightly clinical meetings and individual supervision
  • Administrative support so your time goes on clinical work
  • Relocation assistance for the right candidate
  • Genuinely flexible days and school-hours arrangements

Students and provisional psychologists

We are an approved training site

We take provisional psychologists on 4+2 and 5+1 pathways, and clinical registrars completing their program. Supervision is provided by board-approved supervisors at no cost to you, and your caseload builds gradually rather than being dropped on you in week one.

If your placement is still a year away, get in touch anyway — we plan our training positions well ahead.

Speculative applications

Nothing listed that suits you? We would still like to hear from psychologists considering the Territory — several of our team started as an unsolicited email.
