If you need help right now
Darwin Psychology Services is not a crisis service. Our clinics are open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, and this website is not monitored outside those hours. The services below are free and available 24 hours a day.
NT Mental Health Line

Lifeline

13YARN
Crisis support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, answered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander crisis supporters.
If you are worried about someone else
Every service listed above will talk to you about a person you are worried about, not only about yourself. You do not need their permission to ask for advice.
If you think someone is in immediate danger, do not leave them alone, and call 000.
Asking directly is safe
People often worry that asking someone about suicide will put the idea in their head. The research on this is clear and consistent: it does not. Asking directly gives permission to answer honestly, and is usually a relief.
"Are you thinking about suicide?" — plainly, without flinching, is the question that helps.
When our clinics reopen
If you would like to arrange ongoing support, call us on 08 8932 8460 during business hours, or request an appointment and we will call you back.
Tell reception if you have been in crisis recently — it changes how quickly we try to fit you in.
